Bissap has a slightly sour taste and is also known as the African hibiscus flower “Hibiscus sabdariffa”.
Bissap, which is popular in West Africa (Senegal) and Egypt (Karkade), contains vitamin C and is said to have diuretic and tonic properties. Bissap is often used in the preparation of herbal teas and soft drinks.
